The 43-year-old coach spoke about the changes made to the squad: “The team is fully formed, and although the chances are slim, we might still bring in one more player. We have 21 players and 3 goalkeepers. Our target until January is to be in the top five. Only one player from last season remains. How we start the season and the progress we make will be crucial. After January, we will evaluate our position and set our goals. Among the First League clubs, ‘Shafa’ and ‘Sabail’ will be contenders. This season will be more competitive than previous years. Some teams have higher budgets. MOIK’s budget has doubled. We have spoken with Timilehin Oluwaseun from ‘Sabah’ and his agent. They contact us a bit late. The player himself wants to play for our club, but due to financial terms and some requests from the agent, the process has been delayed. That’s why we cannot say anything concrete yet. “Difai” finished the 2024/2025 season of the Azerbaijan First League in 9th place out of 10 teams with 26 points. The club signed a three-year contract with Araz Bagirov yesterday.
