Ferencvaros goalkeeper and captain Denes Dibusz shared his thoughts on their 1:3 loss to Qarabag and the upcoming return match.
The 34-year-old Hungarian national team goalkeeper said they were unable to control the midfield in the second half, Idman.biz reports.
Looking ahead to the return leg, Denes emphasized that there are still 90 minutes to play: "The goals were scored by the opponent; they also had chances in the first half, but fortunately, they couldn’t capitalize on them. Barnabas Varga scored following a brilliant individual move, and Levin also had a huge chance almost to score into an empty net. We had rightfully held the advantage until halftime.
In the second half, however, we lost control of the midfield, and Qarabag gained some dominance. They made excellent use of their opportunities. In the second half, everything shifted in their favor, but we cannot give up because we still have 90 minutes to overturn the deficit. At the end of the game, we also had one or two chances; if we had made it 2:3, we could have left the field with at least a slightly better mood."
