Manager Arne Slot said the club will ensure Jota’s family, expected to attend, “always have our love and support.”
Liverpool players will wear a “Forever 20” emblem on shirts and jackets all season. The club retired Jota’s No. 20 shirt, which he wore during their title-winning campaign, after consulting with his family. Former club Wolves will also honour him in their opener against Manchester City.
