Fulham boss Marco Silva slams “passive” transfer approach ahead of Brighton Opener

Fulham manager Marco Silva has voiced frustration over the club’s lack of transfer activity, describing their summer business as “too passive” ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that the Cottagers, who finished 11th last season, have signed only goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte on a free transfer from Montpellier. While Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is linked with a return and Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz has drawn interest from Atalanta, Silva stressed the squad remains thin in key areas. “It’s not ideal… we’ve left it very late to reinforce,” he said.

Muniz, who has netted 26 goals in 97 games for Fulham, will still feature against Brighton despite speculation over his future. Fulham host Manchester United on August 24, with the transfer window closing September 1. Silva hopes to secure new arrivals before then to meet Premier League demands.
