Idman.biz, citing Teleqraf, reports that this was stated by “Araz-Nakhchivan” goalkeeper Cristian Avram in an interview with journalists after their 0-4 home loss to Cypriot side “Omonia” in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round.
“I’m not a mathematician or a statistician, but I’m sure we need to recover properly and, together with the coaching staff, step onto the pitch and show our determination. What happened is unpleasant, but life doesn’t end here,” the Moldovan goalkeeper emphasized.
The 31-year-old player noted that they had studied and analyzed the opponent’s playing style in recent games, but looking back now is pointless: “There’s no sense in focusing on what happened a hundred years ago, both their team and ours have undergone many changes. Since playing styles differ, looking at the past won’t help us.”
Answering a question about defensive issues, Avram added: “We conceded four goals, there were problems in defense. It’s hard to assess things in an emotional state right now.
