Today, "Qarabag" played its next match in the UEFA Champions League.
The Azerbaijani champions played the first leg of the third qualifying round away from home, Idman.biz reports.
The team, coached by Gurban Gurbanov, faced "Shkendija" in North Macedonia. The Macedonian side had caused a surprise in the previous round by eliminating Romanian champions FCSB, but they were defeated in the first leg. The only goal of the match came from Toral Bayramov, who scored from the penalty spot in the 18th minute.
Thanks to this victory, "Qarabag" will head into the return leg next week with more confidence.
