Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has stated that Alexander Isak must “earn the right” to train with the squad amid transfer speculation. Liverpool reportedly submitted a £110 million bid for the 25-year-old Swedish striker, which Newcastle rejected.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Isak, who trained alone at his former club Real Sociedad and missed the pre-season tour of Asia due to a “minor thigh injury,” has returned to Tyneside, but Howe confirmed he hasn’t yet spoken to him.
“You have to act in the right way,” Howe told The Daily Mail. “No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.” Isak scored 27 goals in 42 appearances last season, playing a key role in Newcastle’s Champions League qualification and EFL Cup triumph over Liverpool. Despite his contributions, Howe emphasized discipline and team responsibility, saying the club expects full commitment from every player. Liverpool have not followed up on their initial bid.
