Everton have seen a £27 million bid rejected by Southampton for 19-year-old winger Tyler Dibling. The highly-rated England Under-21 international remains a key target for the Merseyside club, who are expected to return with an improved offer.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Dibling made 33 Premier League appearances last season, scoring twice, and also netted a brace against Swansea in the FA Cup. Despite Southampton's relegation, the young attacker has attracted interest from multiple Premier League sides.
Everton have faced difficulties in the summer transfer market. Although they’ve signed striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal, left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, and keeper Mark Travers, five senior players have departed, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucouré.
Manager David Moyes admitted the club is "running out of time" to reinforce the squad. A move for Fulham’s Kenny Tete fell through earlier this window after the defender extended his contract at Craven Cottage.
