Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that these are the words of “Araz-Nakhchivan” midfielder Felipe Santos, speaking about their 2–1 victory over Greece’s Aris in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round.
Santos expressed his happiness about the win: “Our team fought with determination. I’m very happy to have scored the first-ever goal for Araz-Nakhchivan in European competitions. The most important thing was for our team to leave the pitch with a win, and we managed that. Now we have to regroup and aim for a successful result in the return leg. Our opponent has strong qualities, but we’ll do everything we can to advance.”
The Brazilian player also emphasized their desire to progress further in the Conference League: “We have a team capable of achieving that. We just need to maintain our character. I believe we will win in Greece as well and return to Azerbaijan with a historic victory.”
