Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has emphasized that qualifying for European competition is the club's main goal this season.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that following a disappointing 15th-place finish in the Premier League and a Europa League final loss to Tottenham, United will be without European football for only the second time since the 1980s.
“Europe is a massive, massive thing for us,” Mount said. “The Champions League would be amazing, but I’d say Europe — that’s the focus.”
With pressure mounting on manager Ruben Amorim, the club has invested over £125m in new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. Transfer speculation continues, with Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson both linked in swap deals involving Alejandro Garnacho — though United insists no move is imminent.
While the squad competes in the Premier League Summer Series in the U.S., sidelined players like Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are training at Carrington. Juventus and Real Betis remain interested in Sancho and Antony, respectively.
