Liverpool have completed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in a deal worth up to £79 million. The 23-year-old French forward passed his medical, agreed personal terms, and will join the Reds’ pre-season tour of Asia later this week, pending international clearance.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that the transfer includes a guaranteed £69m fee plus £10m in potential add-ons, marking another major investment in Liverpool's summer rebuild. Ekitike’s arrival pushes the club’s total summer spending beyond £250m, following big-money moves for Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.
Ekitike impressed last season with 15 goals and eight assists in 31 starts for Frankfurt, finishing as one of the Bundesliga’s top scorers. His 117 shots on goal were unmatched in the league.
Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche praised Ekitike’s impact, calling him "a true asset on and off the pitch" and said he fully deserves this next step in his career.
