Spain have booked their place in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final after a dramatic 1-0 extra-time win over Germany, thanks to a moment of brilliance from Aitana Bonmati.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that with the match still goalless after 90 minutes, the two-time Ballon d’Or winner delivered in the 113th minute, turning superbly before firing past German goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger to seal Spain’s first-ever Euro final appearance.
Germany came close to equalising late on, but Spain’s keeper Cata Coll denied Lea Schuller with a diving save to preserve the lead. Earlier, both teams missed chances, with Spain hitting the post and Germany failing to convert through Klara Buhl and Giovanna Hoffmann.
Despite fatigue from a gruelling quarter-final, Germany’s defense stood strong, forcing extra time. However, Bonmati’s clinical finish proved decisive.
Spain will now face England in a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final, which La Roja won 1-0.
