Newcastle United are targeting Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in a potential £70m+ deal. The 23-year-old French forward impressed last season with 15 goals and eight assists as Frankfurt finished third in the Bundesliga.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Ekitike joined Frankfurt permanently last summer after a loan from PSG and remains under contract for four more years.
Despite interest in Ekitike, Newcastle have no intention of selling top scorer Alexander Isak, who has attracted attention from clubs like Liverpool. Isak, 25, joined from Real Sociedad in 2022 for £63m, a club record.
The Magpies, who secured Champions League qualification with a fifth-place finish in the Premier League, recently signed Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest for £55m as part of their squad strengthening.
