The details of Azerbaijani national team and Neftchi goalkeeper Rza Jafarov’s failed transfer to Romanian side Dinamo have been revealed.
Idman.biz, citing Sport24.az, reports that the 22-year-old goalkeeper was interested in playing for the Bucharest-based club.
In fact, a preliminary agreement was reached between the player and the club, and Jafarov, who currently serves as captain of Neftchi, was close to finalizing a deal with Dinamo.
However, the transfer fell through after Neftchi changed its stance at the last minute. Initially, the Baku club gave positive signals about the move and indicated they were willing to let Jafarov go. But in the end, they reversed their decision, and negotiations between the parties came to a standstill.
Facing pressure due to the approaching season and unwilling to waste time, Dinamo officials decided to pursue other options. As a result, the Romanian club signed Cameroonian national team goalkeeper Devis Epassy instead of Rza Jafarov.
