Interview with Azerbaijan national team footballer Rahil Mammadov
– What are your career plans for the new season? Why didn’t things go as expected at the Polish club Radomiak?
– I still have a contract with Radomiak. If a good offer comes in, I will change clubs. As you know, the head coach didn’t play me. Even if nothing changes, I still have one year left on my contract. I’ll go there and do my job.
– It was reported in the media that you had left Radomiak…
– No, I haven’t left the Polish club. Those reports are incorrect.
– What are the chances you’ll stay at the club?
– I won’t be left without football. As you know, the foreign player limit has been lifted in Azerbaijan. Does any local club need an Azerbaijani player? I don’t know.
– Have you received any offers from local clubs?
– I don't want to comment on that just yet. Anything can happen. I might stay in Poland or return to my country. I’ll say it again, I still have a one-year contract with my club.
– What did you think of your national teammate Renat Dadashov leaving Radomiak?
– He signed a six-month contract. Once it expired, he left.
– Was he offered a new deal?
– I don’t know. That’s between him and his agent.
– How is your relationship with Renat?
– We’re on good terms. Even if I knew something about his career plans, I wouldn’t say it.
– Could you move to another Polish club?
– It’s hard to say in advance. If there’s a good offer, I’ll consider it. Maybe I’ll get a better offer from Azerbaijan. For now, everything about my career remains uncertain.
