If Chelsea wins the Club World Cup, they will earn $120 million.
The London club reached the final after defeating Fluminense 2-0 in the semifinals, Idman.biz reports.
Journalist Ben Jacobs wrote that Chelsea has already earned over $110 million from participating in the Club World Cup. If they win the final, FIFA will pay the English club an additional $10 million.
The maximum possible revenue for a club in the Club World Cup is $125 million. Chelsea lost $2 million for a 1-3 defeat against Flamengo in the group stage, and received €35 million for participation – 3 million less than the maximum amount available for UEFA representatives.
Chelsea will face either Real Madrid or PSG in the final. The match will take place on Sunday, July 13, starting at 23:00 Baku time.
