Although the contract with Farid Namazov, the head coach of Imishli, who will compete in the Misli Premier League from next season, has expired, the name of the new coach has not yet been announced.
The club's leasing director Agshin Mursalov made a statement to the QOL.az website about this, Idman.biz reports.
He said that they were holding talks with several specialists: "We are holding talks with Portuguese, Turkish, English specialists and two local coaches. The board of directors will meet after June 20. Then a final decision will be made."
The club official denied the news that they had reached a preliminary agreement with the Portuguese specialist Christian Souza, who is not a Pro category: "We have not held negotiations with the coach you mentioned. We are talking with other coaches. All of them are PRO category coaches. Only Farid Namazov is currently studying for the Pro category. We are not considering bringing in a head coach outside the Pro category."
Mursalov also answered the question of whether they will hold their home games at the Imishli city stadium, which is not fully ready for the Premier League, or at another arena: "There is no definite word about the stadium. We are waiting for AFFA to provide support regarding the legal issues of the stadium. Fortunately, they have said that they will provide support in this regard. We represent Imishli. Our goal is to hold our home games at our native stadium. There is also a possibility that we will temporarily hold our home games at other stadiums. Let's take into account that this will be temporary. Like other clubs, we think that we have the right to use it."
