The 33rd final of the Azerbaijan Cup will be marked by the debut of a new team in the decisive match.
Sabah will compete in the final for the first time in club history, Idman.biz reports.
The last two finals featured no new names: in 2023, it was Gabala vs. Neftchi, and last year, Qarabag faced Zira, both contests featuring teams making repeat attempts for the title.
The last time a newcomer appeared in the final was on May 27, 2022, when Zira faced Qarabag. That match ended in a 1–1 draw, with Qarabag winning 4–3 on penalties.
It has taken 1,100 days for a fresh finalist to emerge again.
