Ferencváros has retained its title as the Hungarian football champion.
The team coached by Irishman Robbie Keane defeated Győr 2–1 in the final round, finishing the season at the top of the table with 69 points, Idman.biz reports.
The Budapest representative finished three points ahead of its closest rival, Puskás Akadémia.
With this victory, Ferencváros has claimed its 7th consecutive and 36th overall championship title in Hungary — more than any other club. The closest team to this record is MTK with 23 league titles.
Former Qarabag midfielder Julio Romao also became a Hungarian champion, having played 9 matches for Ferencváros. Qarabag's current player, Kady Borges, also represented the Budapest club in the first half of the season.
