Cooperation with one of Italy's traditional clubs, Udinese, will have a positive impact on our academy, says Aftandil Hajiyev, head coordinator of the Qarabag Football Academy.
Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that Hajiyev noted that the age category of the players to be sent to training camps in Italy has yet to be determined:
“Since the agreement is new, our planning is still underway. This partnership was arranged at the club presidents’ level, and of course, our ambitions are high.”
He also revealed that talks have taken place with Spain’s Levante:
“We’ve had meetings with Levante at the academy level, and they’ve made us several proposals. The fact that renowned clubs are showing interest in working with us reflects the progress of Azerbaijani football. We may formalize the partnership with the Valencia-based club in the coming months.”
According to Hajiyev, club presidents from both sides would need to meet before finalizing any deal:
“We’re working hard to give Azerbaijani youngsters the chance to regularly join foreign clubs’ training camps.”
This comes as part of Qarabag’s broader strategy to integrate its academy with European football systems and boost the international experience of its young players.
