Rahil Mammadov: “There’s no point in staying at Radomiak in this situation”

“There’s no point in staying at Radomiak in this situation.”

Azerbaijani national team defender Rahil Mammadov made this statement to Report, addressing his likely departure from Polish club Radomiak at the end of the season, Idman.biz reports.

Although Rahil has one year left on his contract, he expects it to be terminated:

“After this season, I still have a year left, but most likely the contract will be terminated and I’ll leave the team. I want to play and contribute, but it’s clear I’m not in the coach’s plans. This happens in football, so there’s no need to worry. I hope to find a suitable club and continue my career.”

The 29-year-old did not rule out a return to an Azerbaijani club:

“As I said, anything is possible in football. The number of teams in the Azerbaijani Premier League is increasing. I might receive an offer that would bring me back home. Of course, it depends on the club’s ambitions and other conditions. But playing in Europe and representing Azerbaijan abroad is always preferable.”
