For the first time in its history, Spanish side Real Betis has reached a European final, where they will face Chelsea in the UEFA Conference League decider.
Betis’ previous best European achievement was reaching the now-defunct Cup Winners’ Cup quarterfinals twice (1977/78, 1997/98), Idman.biz reports.
Domestically, the Seville-based club has one La Liga title from 1934/35 and three Copa del Rey trophies, the most recent in 2022 under Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini.
Notably, between 1993 and 1995, Azerbaijani striker Vali Gasimov played for Betis, scoring 13 goals in 53 appearances across La Liga, the second division, and the Spanish Cup.
