Fabregas urges Como to forget historic 9-1 Champions League victory ahead of Inter clash

Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has urged his players to put their historic 9-1 victory over French side Lens in the UEFA Champions League behind them and focus on their upcoming Serie A encounter against Inter Milan.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Spanish manager praised his team's remarkable achievement in Europe's most prestigious club competition but stressed the importance of maintaining momentum.

"Yes, we made history. It was an unforgettable evening for our fans and our club. Everything went exactly as we wanted. However, we must continue at the same pace because another important match awaits us on Sunday," Fabregas said.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder emphasized that his players must not allow their European success to distract them from the challenges ahead.

"We have every right to enjoy this moment. The team deserves it. But things change very quickly in football. I have already told my players to forget about the Lens match and think only about Inter. We face an extremely difficult game away against the reigning Italian champions," he explained.

Fabregas also outlined Como's main objective for their upcoming trip to Milan.

"Our goal is to go to Milan and show who we really are. This match will demand a great deal from us, both physically and mentally. We have little time to prepare, but we must make the most of it. It will be our ninth match between international breaks, and we want to finish this period with a positive result," the coach added.

Como's extraordinary 9-1 away victory over Lens marked a historic achievement in the club's debut Champions League campaign.

The Italian side will now turn their attention to domestic competition, facing Inter at San Siro on November 8 in the next round of Serie A.
