Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono struggling emotionally after tragic death of Tenerife player

Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono is reportedly experiencing severe emotional distress following the tragic incident involving Tenerife forward Jesus de Miguel during a Spanish Segunda Division match.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spanish newspaper Marca, the 25-year-old goalkeeper has barely left his apartment since returning home after the tragedy and frequently breaks down in tears.

His mother has remained by his side, providing emotional support as he struggles to cope with the devastating events.

Andorra owner Gerard Pique has also taken a personal interest in Owono's well-being and is helping the goalkeeper through this difficult period. The club's management is providing the necessary support, taking his psychological condition into consideration.

As a result, Owono will miss Equatorial Guinea's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches in November.

The goalkeeper will not participate in the national team's fixtures against Zimbabwe, scheduled for November 12 in Bata and November 16 in Harare.

The tragedy occurred during a Segunda Division encounter between Andorra and Tenerife, when Owono collided with opposing striker Jesus de Miguel.

The 30-year-old forward was hospitalized following the incident but died the following day despite medical efforts to save his life.

The incident has deeply affected Spanish football, prompting widespread expressions of sympathy and calls for greater emotional support for those involved.
