Medical records on Maradona’s treatment seized by police ahead of death investigation

The Buenos Aires provincial police have seized 279 medical records, six laboratory tests, and over 500 emails related to the treatment of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona at the Olivos Clinic in Buenos Aires.

According to Idman.biz, citing La Verdad, Maradona was admitted to the clinic just weeks before his death, where he underwent surgery to remove a subdural hematoma.

The police have obtained all available documents related to Maradona’s hospitalization and treatment. During the operation, authorities also questioned the clinic’s management.

Maradona passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60. The official cause of death was reported as cardiac arrest. On March 12, 2025, a criminal court in San Isidro, Argentina, began hearings as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the World Cup champion’s death.
