Defeated Qarabag now one step from final

In the UEFA Europa League, Tottenham and Bodø/Glimt, both former opponents of Qarabag in the group stage, are now just one step away from the final.

As Idman.biz reports, the Azerbaijani champions recorded one win and one loss against these teams this season — defeating Bodø/Glimt 2–1 in Norway, but falling 0–3 in London to Tottenham.

For Bodø/Glimt, this marks their historic first appearance in a European semifinal, while Tottenham are no strangers to continental success, having lifted European trophies three times: The Cup Winners’ Cup (1963) and the UEFA Cup (1972, 1984).

Tottenham now hope to compensate for a disappointing domestic season — they currently sit 16th in the Premier League — with success on the European stage.

Meanwhile, Bodø/Glimt, the reigning Norwegian champions, are only four matches into their new domestic season, played under a spring-to-autumn calendar.

In the other Europa League semifinal, Athletic Bilbao will face Manchester United — a repeat of their 2012 Europa League clash, where Bilbao won both legs 3–2 and 2–1.

The UEFA Europa League semifinals kick off today at 23:00 Baku time with Tottenham vs. Bodø/Glimt and Athletic Bilbao vs. Manchester United.
