The experienced specialist spoke about the options for the national team. He said that he had personal conversations with Eddy Israfilov during the training session: "Negative opinions were formed about him after the red card he received in the game against Belgium. I had these in mind. When I invited Eddy, I had a conversation with him on the first day. I said that the step you took was not well received by the public. You have to understand that you are in the national team. You carry our national flag. You should respect all these attributes. Israfilov also got our conversation well. I think that he didn't show himself in a bad way in the game either."
Asadov also evaluated the performance of new players invited to the national team: "We used Emil Mustafayev, Rza Jafarov, Amin Seydiyev. You just need to win a player so that you can play him and create competition. Emil does not play 90 minutes in his club, but he showed himself in a good way. We have already seen that we gained 1 person in that position. In the future, everything depends on themselves. If there is competition, whoever will be stronger will play in the main team."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team won 1:0 against Mongolia in 2024 FIFA Series and drew 1:1 with Bulgaria.
