According to İdman.biz, in the eighth minute of the game, Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was sent off after committing a serious foul. The Nigerian keeper struck an opposing player hard outside the penalty area, prompting the referee to show a direct red card.
A similar moment followed in the Genoa vs Atalanta match. In the third minute, Genoa goalkeeper Nikola Leali was also dismissed after making a rough challenge on an opponent outside the box, receiving a straight red card and leaving his team a man down from the very start.
