Barcelona ready to offer Flick a long-term contract

Barcelona are planning to begin negotiations in the near future over a contract extension for Hansi Flick, despite the German coach’s deal having been renewed only a few months ago.

According to İdman.Biz, citing Bild, club president Joan Laporta is keen to secure Flick’s long-term future at Camp Nou.

It is noted that the Catalan club’s hierarchy have been impressed by the work of the 60-year-old specialist and the team’s progress this season. Under Flick, Barcelona have been playing intense, physically dominant football, leading La Liga and being viewed as genuine contenders in European competitions.

Laporta and sporting director Deco are preparing an offer for Flick that is being described internally as a “surprise” due to its timing. The new contract is expected to run for a longer period than the current agreement and would serve as a clear sign of long-term trust in the coach.

Barcelona see Flick as a key figure in their sporting project and someone capable of providing the stability the club has lacked in recent years. The management also fully support his approach to team development and the integration of young players from La Masia.

Flick has previously stated on several occasions that he feels comfortable in Catalonia and appreciates the club’s atmosphere. At the same time, the coach has traditionally preferred shorter contracts to maintain competitiveness and motivation. A final decision is expected to be made once formal talks begin.
