PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov has responded to online rumors claiming that he was deliberately removed from a team photo published ahead of the club’s departure for the Intercontinental Cup match against Flamengo.
According to İdman.biz, the Paris club’s press service shared a group photo in which Safonov was not clearly visible, despite the fact that he appeared in video footage taken at the same location. This led to speculation in the media that the club’s SMM team had allegedly edited him out of the image, with only the legs and torso of the Russian goalkeeper visible in the published photo.
Safonov addressed the situation on his Telegram channel, stressing that there was no ill intent behind it.
"It may seem like I am not here, but I am here. I have always felt uncomfortable trying to fit into group photos. My view is that if you are blocked in a photo, just relax and do not ruin the picture.
P.S. There have been a lot of stories saying Photoshop was used. No, I was just hiding here," Safonov wrote.

French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) partially removed Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov from a team photo taken before the squad’s departure for the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar, Idman.Biz reports.
At the same time, Safonov can be seen in a video recorded prior to boarding the plane. It is noted that PSG’s SMM team did a poor job editing the image, as the published photo still shows the legs and torso of the Russian goalkeeper.

It should be added that Paris Saint-Germain will face Brazil’s Flamengo in the final of the Intercontinental Cup. The match will take place on December 17 in Qatar at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
