Former Manchester United midfielder steps away from TV work to care for son

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has decided to leave his role as a television football pundit to fully dedicate himself to caring for his 20-year-old son Aiden, who suffers from a severe form of autism.

Idman.Biz reports that Aiden was diagnosed with non-verbal autism in childhood. He cannot speak and expresses his emotions through biting and scratching, which sometimes leads to injuries for himself and others. On some training sessions, Paul appeared with scratches on his face, the cause of which he did not explain.

Five years ago, Scholes’ wife left him after 27 years of marriage. The couple currently shares responsibilities for caring for their son, with each parent spending three nights with Aiden to maintain a stable daily routine.

In recent years, the situation has become more challenging: Aiden has grown and gained weight, making care even more demanding. This season, Paul has not appeared as a football expert at any match.

The Manchester United legend emphasized that all his future plans will revolve around his son’s needs and shared a social media photo of himself with Aiden.
