Although the transfer window in Azerbaijan has closed, Neftchi continues to strengthen its squad.
Idman.biz, citing idmanxeber.az, reports that one of the most active clubs during the summer break, the “Neftchi” have completed the transfer of another foreign player.
The Baku-based club has reached an agreement with defensive midfielder Idrissa Doumbia. The 27-year-old player will arrive in the capital in the coming days to sign an official contract with Neftchi.
Doumbia, who last played for Qatar’s Al-Ahli, is currently a free agent. Despite interest from several clubs, he found Neftchi’s offer more attractive.
Throughout his career, Idrissa Doumbia has played for well-known clubs including Anderlecht, Sporting CP, Huesca, and Alanyaspor. Since 2023, he has appeared in four matches for the Ivory Coast national team.
