Balakishi Gasimov has been re-elected as president of the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation (AFF).
Idman.Biz reports, citing the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation, that the federation’s general assembly was held today.
The event, organized at the administrative building of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, began with the playing of the national anthem. Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, greeted the participants and wished them success.
The assembly observed a one-minute silence in memory of the late vice-president Farhad Kasimov, who passed away at the age of 61. Vasif Mammadov, secretary general of the AFF, gave a speech outlining the federation’s activities, achievements, and upcoming plans for 2022–2025.
Elections were then held for the federation’s leadership. According to the results, Balakishi Gasimov was elected president for the next four years, Fikret Zeynalov as vice-president, and Vasif Mammadov as secretary general. Members of the Executive Committee include Fikret Zeynalov, Vasif Mammadov, Sadyg Sadygov, and Adila Ahmadova.
Chingiz Huseynzade, vice-president of the National Olympic Committee, congratulated Gasimov on his re-election. In his speech, Gasimov expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him.
