Indian chess player at Gashimov Memorial

Aravindh Chithambaram, who replaced Vidit Santosh Gujrathi at the last minute before the Vugar Gashimov Memorial, is an iconic player of Indian chess.

Idman.biz reports that even though the Indian player did not participate in the Budapest Olympics, he has an interesting achievement.

Chithambaram is the only chess player who managed to win the national championship 3 times. In this sense, he has a unique achievement that no one else has so far.

The 10th Vugar Gashimov Memorial begins today in Shusha. Yan Nepomnyashchy, Vladislav Artemyev (both Russia), Richard Rapport (Hungary), Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Rauf Mammadov, and Aydin Suleymanli will also perform in the tournament.
