The Chess Academy established by FIDE conducted special training for talented children selected from the different countries.

Idman.biz reports that 450 teenagers were involved in online classes in the first phase, which started in January of this year.

Based on the results of the online classes, 13 specially selected teenagers were invited to Menorca, Spain to participate in face-to-face training. The representative of Azerbaijan, Khagan Ahmad, participated in one-week visual training among the 13 selected chess players.

During the training in Spain, our chess player shared the experiences of well-known experts such as Judit Polgár and Artur Yusupov with the teenagers.
In the exercises, discussions were held on innovations in the debut, correct assessment of the situation in the game, finding weak points, principles of attack and defense, correct evaluation of figures and other topics. During the training, it was noted that education plays an important role in the formation of a chess player, and teenagers were advised to pay attention to physical training and nutrition.

It should be noted that the FIDE Chess Academy was founded by the International Chess Federation and the Chessable platform. Chess players from more than 100 federations have been involved in the academy, which has been operating since 2021. Gukesh Dommaraju, a participant of the Candidates Tournament held in Canada, and Candela Belen, who was the world champion among juniors last year, were among the students of the academy.
