Azrak Babirov tested his strength against Ariol Zeneli (Albania) in 57 kg weight. The battle, which took place in the 1/8 finals, ended with the victory of our representative. Babirov defeated his opponent 5:0 (30:27, 30:26, 30:27, 30:26, 29:28). He will face Ireland's Pears Carey in the 1/4 finals. The meeting will be on November 16.
Jalal Gurbanov (63.5 kg) also started the European Championship with a victory. He fought in the 1/16 finals with Bartlomiej Roskowicz (Poland) and won the stage - 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27). Gurbanov will hold his second match against Alexey Shendrik (Serbia) on November 14.
