On May 24-25, the qualifying round of the 3x3 Basketball World Cup (2025) will take place in Azerbaijan for the first time.
Both Azerbaijani men's and women's national teams will compete in the capital Baku to qualify for the main stage, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijani men's national team will compete against Canada and Great Britain in Group B, while Azerbaijani women's national team will compete against Latvia and Egypt in Group B.
In the men's competition, Montenegro, Rwanda and Iran will compete in Group A, and in the women's competition, Chile, Chinese Taipei and Brazil will try to get out of the groups. Azerbaijani men's national team will play its first game in the group on May 24 at 19:05 against Canada, and Azerbaijani women's national team will play against Egypt at 18:15.
According to the regulations in the men's and women's categories, which will be held at the Sea Breeze recreation center, the teams that have completed the qualifying round groups in the first two places will qualify for the semifinals. The winner of the match between the winners of the semifinal pairs and the losers of the semifinal pairs will gain the right to participate in the main stage of the World Cup. The World Cup matches will be held in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, on June 23-29.
