For the first time in history, Azerbaijan will be represented in four categories by six athletes at the World Badminton Championships.
Azerbaijani athletes have secured qualification based on world rankings for the tournament, which will take place August 25–31 in Paris, France, Idman.biz reports.
In the men’s singles, Ade Resky Dwicahyo and Dicky Dwi Pangestu will compete.
In the women’s singles, Keisha Fatimah Azzahra has earned a spot.
In the men’s doubles, the duo of Agil Gabilov and Dicky Dwi Pangestu will represent the country.
In the mixed doubles, Jahid Alhasanov and Hajar Nuriyeva will compete.
One of the main goals of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation’s 2025–2028 strategic plan is to ensure regular participation in all categories at European and World Championships in the coming years.
