At the Balkan Athletics Championship held in Volos, Greece, Azerbaijani athlete Alham Naghiyev, who won a gold medal, has set his sights on achieving success in larger competitions.
The athlete shared his thoughts with Report after reaching the top of the podium, Idman.biz reports.
He spoke about his recent success and future goals: “Achieving such a result at the Balkan Championship is very pleasing. Winning a gold medal and raising Azerbaijan’s flag high is a wonderful feeling. It's hard to put my emotions into words. My next goal depends on the training process. I aim to work harder and succeed in bigger competitions.”
Naghiyev won the 200-meter race with a time of 20.70 seconds, finishing first among 19 athletes.
