Azerbaijani-born American athlete Vusala Bentley has completed an extraordinary plank challenge, holding the position continuously for five hours and three minutes in an attempt to set a women's world record.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing shimal.news.az, Bentley, originally from Azerbaijan's Khachmaz district, achieved the result on October 24 during an event in Mankato, Minnesota, USA.
The endurance challenge also served a charitable purpose, raising more than $15,000 for a local charity.
Speaking to local media, Bentley emphasized that her primary motivation was not personal recognition but making a positive contribution to the community.
However, her achievement has not yet been officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The athlete has submitted an application for verification, with the approval process expected to take several months.
Bentley also plans to continue her charitable initiative by performing a plank for at least one hour in each of the 50 US states.
The ambitious project aims to combine physical endurance with fundraising and community engagement across the country.
