Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, met with athletes who achieved outstanding results at international competitions in September.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the meeting took place on October 7 at the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.
During the event, athletes who had earned the title of "Master of Sports" were presented with official certificates and badges.
Gayibov praised the achievements of Azerbaijani athletes on the international stage and congratulated both the competitors and their coaches on their success.
The minister revealed that Azerbaijan's national anthem was played in 16 countries during September as a result of victories at international sporting events.
In total, Azerbaijani athletes secured 191 medals throughout the month, including 72 gold, 48 silver and 71 bronze.
A video highlighting the country's international sporting achievements was screened during the ceremony.
Representatives of various sports also shared details of their participation in international competitions and discussed the results they had achieved.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Gayibov wished the athletes continued success and further victories in upcoming competitions.
