Kevin De Bruyne closes in on 200th career goal

Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be aiming to score the 200th goal of his professional career in his next match.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the 35-year-old currently has 199 goals at club and international level. The Belgian could reach the milestone on September 20, when Napoli face Fiorentina away in Serie A.

De Bruyne scored the first goal of his senior career on February 7, 2010, for Genk against Standard Liege. He was 18 years old at the time.

The midfielder has scored 161 goals in 673 club appearances and another 38 in 124 matches for the Belgium national team. Since joining Napoli, he has netted six times in 26 appearances, with all of those goals coming in Serie A.

Interestingly, Chelsea are the only club De Bruyne has represented without scoring for. He made just nine appearances for the London side.

De Bruyne is expected to start for the third consecutive match against Fiorentina. Napoli head coach Massimiliano Allegri has recently used the Belgian in a slightly more advanced position in an attempt to make greater use of his attacking qualities.

De Bruyne has created 10 goalscoring chances for his teammates in Serie A this season, the highest figure among Napoli players.

The Belgian also scored against Fiorentina away last season, converting a penalty past David de Gea.
