Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler has commented on his team's 3-2 victory over Manchester United in the third round of the English League Cup.
As İdman.Biz reports, the German specialist praised his players for sticking to their game plan despite conceding twice.
"I think we started the game very well. We conceded two easy goals, but after that we continued to stick to our plan. That was a positive thing. Of course, when you are 2-0 down, you can go one of two ways: decide the game is over and stop following the plan, or continue to believe.
"You have to believe in your teammates. You have to believe in yourself. The longer the game went on, the better we looked and, in the end, I think we deserved to win.
"I don't think we started that badly. Of course, we conceded goals and they changed the game, but overall we had the right structure. We moved the ball well. I think the problem at the beginning was that we were very nervous. We made a lot of technical mistakes, but then the players gradually grew into the game. In the end, we completely controlled the match and created enough chances to score another goal," BBC quoted Hurzeler as saying.
Brighton's victory knocked Manchester United out of the League Cup and secured the Seagulls a place in the next round of the competition.
Manchester United were also Sabah's opponents in the opening round of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The match at Old Trafford ended in a 4-0 victory for the English side over the Baku club.
