Manchester City's new midfielder Enzo Fernandez has spoken about his relationship with head coach Enzo Maresca and revealed the Italian played a key role in his transfer.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Argentine told the club's press service that he had previously worked with Maresca and learned a great deal from him.
"To be honest, Enzo Maresca is a top-level coach. He worked with me at my previous club. We had incredible moments together. I learned a lot from him. He is very dedicated to his work, so it is a great pleasure for me to work with him.
"I also want to thank Maresca because he played a very important role in me being here. It is a great honour for me to work with him and enjoy this experience. To be honest, we both really wanted this. I know Enzo spoke with the club's management and made a huge effort to make it happen, so I am grateful to him. It was a long process that lasted several days, but in the end I am here and I am very happy to have joined this club," Fernandez said.
Enzo Fernandez was the most expensive player of the latest summer transfer window. Manchester City signed the midfielder from Chelsea for €145 million (290 million manats).
