French biathlete and world champion Julia Simon has been suspended from competitions due to fraud.
According to Idman.Biz, the announcement was made by the Disciplinary Committee of the French Ski Federation.
Simon has been banned from all competitions for six months, five of which are conditional. The suspension came into effect on November 7.
The 29-year-old biathlete was found to have stolen the bank cards of two teammates on the French national team during the 2021–2022 season and used them for online purchases.
As a result, she received a three-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of €15,000 in October.
It should be noted that Julia Simon is a 10-time world champion in relay events.
