Azerbaijan's national weightlifting team, which took part in the World Cup in Phuket, Thailand, has returned home.
Idman.biz reports that the team and Dadash Dadashbayli, who won 3 silver medals in the competition, were welcomed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and representatives of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation, coaches and athletes at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The Azerbaijani athlete lifted 177 kg and won a silver medal in this movement. He overcame 211 kg in the push-up movement and achieved the same success in this movement.
Dadashbayli, who weighed a total of 388 kg (177+211), took the 2nd place in the final standings and finished the competition with 3 silver medals.
It should be noted that the World Cup, attended by 449 (228+231) athletes from 110 countries, was the last license tournament for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
