Special Congress of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) was held in Phuket, Thailand.
As Idman.biz reports, the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation, Firdovsi Umudov, also participated in the event.
At the Congress, the reports of all the committees of the organization were heard, discussions were held, and the new anthem of the organization was presented. In addition, the latest situation on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was discussed.
Firdovsi Umudov also held meetings with IWF President Mohammad Jalud and European Weightlifting Federation President Antonio Konflitti. During these meetings, a number of issues were discussed, as well as the strengthening of friendship, cooperation and partnership relations of AAF with these international organizations, the study and application of international experience in the direction of the development of weightlifting in Azerbaijan.
