Azerbaijan men’s volleyball team drops to 91st in FIVB rankings

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has released the latest world rankings.

The Azerbaijan men’s national volleyball team also features in the new list, Idman.biz reports.

Following an unsuccessful performance in the European Championship qualifiers, Farid Jalalov’s team has dropped to 91st place. With 8.85 points, Azerbaijan is ahead of only two countries on the list – Cambodia and Iceland.

Compared to the previous rankings, our team has fallen 7 places, making them one of the three biggest decliners. Unlike Azerbaijan, Norway (61st) and Kosovo (77th) have overtaken 8 rivals each.

Poland leads the ranking with 400.14 points.

The Azerbaijani team lost both matches in the qualifiers against Belgium and Austria, failing to win even a single set.
