Azerbaijan's men's national volleyball team has entered the decisive stage of preparations for the continuation of the 2026 European Championship qualifiers.
The qualifying stage began last year, and in the first two matches of the group, our team suffered defeats, Idman.biz reports.
Our national team lost both away to Austria and at home to Belgium with the same score of 0:3.
Now, the team led by Farid Jalalov will play the return matches against those opponents. Our volleyball players will face Belgium on August 13 away and Austria on August 16 in Baku.
Currently, the Belgian team leads the group with 6 points from two matches, having not dropped a single set.
Looking at the overall picture, the leaders of the groups after the first round of the qualifiers are Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Greece, Estonia, and Latvia.
The European Championship will be held in Bulgaria, Finland, Italy, and Romania.
