Azerbaijan’s women’s volleyball team is on the way up.
According to İdman.biz, they won two victories over the Czech Republic (3:1) and Greece (3:2) in the group stage of the European Championship held in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Estonia. Although these results did not help Ataman Guneyligil’s team to advance to the 1/8 finals, they allowed them to advance in the ranking table.
In the world ranking, the team has moved up five places and currently occupies the 33rd place. In the European classification, the team rose from the 23rd place to the 20th place.
